I just bought "bed risers" (added 5 inches) for my cutting table at Kmart for $7.19. What a huge difference.

I have a nine foot solid wood door as my cutting table. it's about 35 inches off the floor and I'm 5'7" or so. works great.

My husband bought (inexpensively) this table at a one-stop-shopping (Fred Meyer) and added the top apron or skirt (I think it's called one of those) to raise the height for my purpose. I'm only 5'1" so it didn't have to go up much.

The table is 30 x 48 x 33 tall and the mat is 24 x 36. I love this size....I can walk around it if I want so I don't have to move my fabric and I can reach across it. Now and then I wish it was bigger but not often. I keep it in the center of my room and it does not take up a lot of space.

The total size 0asw long as it fits my most used rotary mat] isn't as important as being able to go around at least 3 sides - one whole end of the table - for ease of cutting, and then the height that works best for the one doing the cutting.

I love that I can literally move myself instead of the fabric, mat, and all and can cut out patterns easily. Nothing moves but me so I get nice cuts or trims.
