Default So proud of my daughter's first quilting project!

My 30ish DD has done some piecing projects--table toppers and even a whole quilt. But tonight she came out with her DH for dinner and to quilt a lap quilt for his g-ma on my long arm. Sure it was just a meander and I helped her load it. But such fun to watch her do a great job on her first long arming! She was a little stiff at first, but was really getting into her stride! Sure there will be more in her future!

Next Christmas we anticipate both kids and the grandkids will all be here(this year our son's family can't make it home due to work) and I plan to start a new tradition of loading a plain piece fabric on the frame and having all of us work on an area, then using the results as a table cloth!

How nice to have someone to carry on the quilting tradition in your family.

Congrats! I agree, what a blessing to share together. My daughter still asks me to sew on buttons. The DGD is almost 3, so I'm hopeful!

That is terrific. I learn to sew with my Grandmother. It was her half sister who introduced me to quilting.

It is fun! When our Guild has a retreat, my sister travels the 4 hrs to join me and my daughter also comes. My Mom used to join the Guild retreat until her death 3 yrs ago--her last year she told me she wasn't even bringing a machine or project cause she was only coming to sit and gab with all the gals in the Guild! So I prepared an embroidery project for her--well she managed to get my daughter, my sis, and several of the gals in the Guild to work on the blocks--just like Tom Sawyer whitewashing the fence. She became a star of the retreat!

And dang! I forgot to get a picture of her work last night!
