Default So proud of my daughter! Her first quilts!

A few months ago my DD asked me to make two chevron quilts for a friend of hers who was due to give birth to twins. I suggested that she try and make them herself as giving a gift that you yourself have put so much effort into is so much more fulfilling. Although she was very nervous, I said I would teach her as she went along. Well, I am so, so proud of her quilts and rightfully, so is she. DD had never used a sewing machine before and had never attempted hand binding until now. And I'm thrilled to say, her hand stitching is even better than mine. Today, the two quilts go to their new homes and to two little boys who I know, are going to treasure them. The first pic is DD's HST layout before she started stitching and the final pic, the two quilts with their individual bindings to match the backing fabric. I'm a very proud Mom!

Wonderful mom and DD experience. The outcome is another bridge to fellowship together. I'm glad you encouraged her to give it a try and I'm glad she chose to do it. There is nothing like a common hobby to unite hearts on another level.

What a great layout for twins. Glad you could show her the way thru making them. You are so correct.
