I was watching a knit and crochet show last week on PBS and they were showing an aphgan that her DGGM did. She said it was inspired by stained glass church windows. I thought it would make an awesome quilt, so I drew it out but I don't have a clue how to make it in blocks that wont be to hard to cut and sew. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you
    David

keep the squares & turn the other shape into a rectangle with a triangle on each end - looks to me that this might work but I'm no expert at design

I would make the whole thing using squares and 1/2 square triangles. Would you like me to post a picture of what I mean?

Or, it could be done with rectangles and quarter square triangles. The rectangles would be 6 units x 12 units and the quarter square triangles would be at the top and bottom of the rectangle and would be 6 units square (based on David's original drawing). Based on Maine Ladybugs drawing the rectangle would be 8 x 12 and the QSTs would be 8x8.
