Default Designer Ruby Deluxe

I am interested in purchasing a new sewing machine, which is Viking Designer Ruby Deluxe. can anyone give me any feedback on this machine? A friend suggested I go with a Babylock instead of a Viking.

I have the Diamond Deluxe now but started off with the Ruby. Love both machines. The Ruby deluxe is great and have the largest hoops. Very friendly to use and learn, not tempermental about threads. If I were to get something besides a Viking, it would be the top of the line Brother emb machine. Each has perks that I wished the other had but the Viking still wins out.

I have the Ruby and love it. I don't need the larger hoops so I am staying with my machine, at least for now. I am not very experienced and have no trouble using this machine. I also have had a Babylock and I prefer the Viking.

You really need to test drive a lot of different machines and see what works for you. It is just like buying a car. TEST DRIVE !! Enjoy the experience and wish you good luck with your selection.

I have a Ruby but not the Deluxe model. It had just come out when I bought my Ruby and, money-wise, I felt the machine on sale was my best buy. That, aside, I absolutely LOVE my Ruby! And I am sure I would feel the same about the Deluxe. I would suggest you visit a couple dealers and definitely test-drive the machines! My feeling is the dealer is that dealer support is very important. I love the LQS I go to...the ladies there know me and are very, very helpful.

Don't have thatparticular machine, but I love my Viking. Would highly recommend the manufacturer. Specific model...only you can decide which best suits your needs and budget.

There is only one hoop that is too big for your machine. The Ruby was my first and it really makes it easy to get addicted.

I would try more than one machine. I have a Viking and a Brother and I much prefer the Brother machine. Also you can get all the bells and whistles on a Brother much much cheaper than on a Viking.
