Did Vintage 1930's Feed Sacks Come In Paisley?
I'm trying to gather up some vintage 1930's feed sacks for a quilt and was looking on Ebay. There are several on there that are a really beautiful paisley pattern but wasn't sure if they're actually vintage. (Haven't seen this pattern on reproduction fabric.) The sellers say they are but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell me if paisley is a vintage print for the 1930's? Wanted to find someone who knew before I started bidding. Thanks so much!

I had an old flour sack that I got from either my mom or MIL that had a paisley print on it. Since flour hasn't been sold in this type of a bag for a lot of years I know it is old. Don't know if it is old enough to be vintage or not but I used it in a quilt with vintage fabric and it worked nice.

According to Barbara Brackman's Clues in the Calico and Eileen Trestain's Dating Fabrics books, paisleys were not common after the 1920s in our fabric prints.

I'm an avid reader and fan of Barbara Brackman but I have used paisley feedsacks in quilts so they did exist. Might not have been popular but they were out there. I am a big fan of anything paisley so it is always popular with me. Mine were from the 40's.
