Coasters, Hot pads, pieced table runners, pieced place mats. Like my Grandmothers - nothing wasted.

Oh yeah! I keep them ALL I just use a zig zag, large stitch and piece them together... Then, small ones for small projects. Works great! Waste not, want not..

Oh, yes! I drop my scraps in a box and when I want to sew a no-brainer, I pick them out and zig-zag them together. I have had as small as 2" strips. Do my fabric the same way. I just sew them together and end up with a 10" crazy quilt square. There, I have a free square to put somewhere, sometime and free pieced batting.

Since my featherweight doesn't have zigzag stitch I use the batting tape. Since storage is an issue in my little home I don't keep anything smaller than 3 to 4 inch piece. I use my batting for all the same reasons everyone else has mentioned but I also use them in my swiffer mop. Works great and you can wash ans reuse it.

I keep all my batting scraps. The larger ones are pieced together for use in a lap quilt or in table runners, smaller ones used in pot holders or coasters and the smallest ones used as fillers for pillows or stuffed toys.

I have saved all mine but haven't used any of it yet. With all these great posts on here, I will be using them very soon. Thanks for sharing.

I use the batting tape, and you never know when you are going to make a small piece. I keep lots of different sizes.

I just started saving mine. I can't bear to throw away good batting. I'm also saving my extra scraps of insul-brite for potholders. That stuff's not cheap.
