The first quilt I started on when I began quilting is hand pieced, as I didn't have a sewing machine at that point.

I now have a sewing machine, but I'm going to keep on hand piecing that particular quilt, as I started that way. I enjoy it, but I'm not very fast at it :) Obviously need to put more time into working on it!

I do both, but some patterns, only hand piecing seems to go together best. I use to do everything by hand but I have started doing some things on the machine. I always machine stitch sashing and borders.

If you count "rip time" (as compared to "rip tide"...pretty basically the same principal...carried out to sea by a mistake! ) I can hand piece almost faster than I can machine piece...and it's more accurate. I rip a LOT more when sewing by machine...

No I don't hand-piece...my hands won't allow it. I sure do admire those that do though. :D

Well, because I don't do patchwork I only piece length of fabric together for a wholecloth - and I do it by hand. Sewing machines are not my best friends!
