Do you have one of those 1/4" rulers?

I think that ruler/tool is one of those that you definitely do NOT need. Just draw one diagonal line down the center and sew 1/4" (using presser foot as guide) on each side and you're done. Why waste time drawing two lines.

And always cut your squares 1" larger than the finished HST needs to be. I've found that no matter what tool I use or how careful I am if I cut the squares at that 3 7/8" (or whatever 7/8" they tell you) at least one of them or both of them never come out the right measurement.

One of my quilting friends had one and I was always borrowing it. I bought my own this week with the 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby. Yea!

I have 2 and I do use them!

I have them and I use them a lot. You just draw two lines not three.

I don't have the one that you are talking about but I do have this one: http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...y&i=1087&page= and wouldn't be without it, best ruler ever for HSTs IMO

I could not piece without it. It is great. My blocks come out right most of the time. I just sew inside the line for a scant 1/4 in seam. It is great for the half square triangles with one square on top of the other square. I have found that the 1/4 in foot seam is tooo big.

I have the 6" and 12" quarter-inch markers and use them all the time. They are dead accurate, even if my stitching is not ...! I use them all the time.

Is this the ruler you're talking about?

They are indispensible if you do paper (or foundation fabric) piecing for trimming each seam as you.

Love it!~ It's the tool my friends borrow most on our quilting days together!
