Another question on appliqueing squares. After a 2" sq is folded under with mitered corners now a 1" sq, how are you keeping the corners together. I have been stitching each little mitered corner with a couple stitches. Only problem is I have 120 squares to do. Can't applique each one at a time. Have to wait till 11 are done to do an even row across. Is there another way to keep corners together. Is there a spray or something. Could use help before I get too far along. If tacked about 20 so far. Thank you in advance.

Have you turned them over and steam pressed them? They go have a fabric glue, maybe just a dot? I've never done this though. Sorry, guess I'm not much help! :?

Thank you. I would press them but I used the blue water soluable pen to draw the square on top so I could fold it and directions say not to press the blue lines because they may become permenent.

There is a heat resistant template material. Why not make a template and press the ends of the squares around that instead of using the blue marking pen. Then use a drop of school glue at the corners and press glue dry.

try using a acid free glue stick, it dries fairly quickly without needing any heat, and will fully wash out. A tiny dab goes a long way :D:D:D

I bought glue today and tried it. I bought Fabric-Tac it dries quick. The only problem is it leaves a hard place. Somewhat difficult to sew around. What is the name of the glue you use. Thanks

Plain old Elmers Glue will work but use very sparingly. Just a dot here & there.

For tricky bits of applique I use acid free glue stick, just a cheap one from the supermarket. It won't dry hard (use sparingly) and it washes out very easily.
