I applique from the back, no corners to fold, and you only have to change the bobbin theard.

Elmers washable school glue only. It works great, but should be touched with the iron to seal it til you are through with the project and the stiching.

Good Luck

that fabric tac is permanant, I hope you haven't done but one square with it. I've ironed the blue pen and not had trouble but you never know! I use freezer paper, cut to size and iron on top of my fabric, it's easy to turn under and sew then peels off easily when you're done. Are you by any chance doing a little quilt that looks like ceramic tiles and has some flowers appliqued on top of them? If you use glue, be sure it's washable school glue, try not to get it on the part you're stitching because it too is a little hard to stitch thru. good luck

That is the exact quilt I am doing. It's really pretty isn't it. Thanks for the advice that includes all the people who replied.

It needs to be the washable school glue. Had to laugh because hubby uses "plain old Elmer's" for his wood working and that would be a disaster in a quilt.

I use the glue stick from Dritz or UHU makes a washable glue in stick form.

When using a glue stick and the push pin no loner advances the glue, you can use a firm-bristle artist brush to get the rest of the glue out of the stick. Just dab it on the brush and spread it on the fabric. Wash the brush with soapy water. Worked for me like a charm.

I've resorted to using a tiny amount of fabric glue if the corners wouldn't stay perky.
But other than that, pressing with a Wooden Iron was all it needed in most cases.

I had just drug out some old magazines to drool over before I went to sleep and everytime I see that one I think how cute it is, and it's the only one I've ever seen with a lot of appliqued squares, I'll be watching for pictures!
