I run the edges to be bound through my serger. Gives the layers a good "tight" surface and the binding goes on like a dream!! Love that serger!!

My machine has dual feed, so I use my normal 1/4" foot

Mine, too. The duel feed really helps when I sew something with a lot of layers.

I stay stitch around the edge of the quilt sandwich after it's quilted and then put on my binding. I do both with a walking foot.

I use the walking foot on my Janomi but have never needed it on my little Brother and don't have one on the Red Eye Singer. Just have to adjust the tension. For some reason the Janomi doesn't like that many layers without it.

Me too, as most of my quilts are utilitarian and thus washed more frequently, or kid/baby quilts. I feel it is more durable that way.

I have dual feed as well so I am good with a 1/4" foot. Love my Pfaff!

I use the walking foot too. I then hand sew it to the back.

I used my walking foot on the last quilt I completed....was surprised at the easiness of it.
