going scrappy would be great HOWEVER...be sure to keep your values the same as in the pic, use lights where lights belong etc.

I agree, with mostly medium fabrics, the scrappy would be muddled. Adding a dark brown or even a pumpkin for the contrast, and then a mellow yellow or light beige for the lights will brighten up the scrappy look. Just my idea.

I would probably minimize the red (which is dark compared to the mediums, but bright compared to the dark brown) so it isn't too distracting, but it would add a nice spark here and there. You would need to use the dark brown for the dark in the pattern, along with the lightest fabric for the light; everything else would be mediums.

I think scrappy would do okay for this pattern as long as you keep the contrast strong.

Love both the fabrics and your pattern choice! My bucket list is groaning at this point - oh well what's one more?

Default I think so yes

I think it would look great scrappy using those lovely batiks. If it were me, and I had enough of the wine red, I would use that where they used the dark brown and use the dark brown for my second dark. I think the red would be bold and attention getting and the other colors would definitely be a perfect setting for such a jewel!!!

you get the geometric design from the use of lights and darks. that color play can be done scrappy.
