No shoes when sewing - probably a slipper or socks if anything.

When I take a class I wear slip on shoes so I can put them on to walk around if necessary.

Barefoot don't like shoes, I will wear socks in the winter.

"Now if I could just get rid of some other restrictive clothing..." I so hear ya.

Oh you lucky, lucky people!! I was a barefoot girl for years and years. Now as I'm "getting older" things have changed. I have very high arches and have to wear orthotics. Then last year I developed neuromas in both feet (sort of like carpal tunnel of the feet).

I ALWAYS have to wear shoes when I quilt or my feet go crazy, hurting so much... :-(

It's true though, you actually CAN control the foot pedal with shoes on...when forced!

I usually sew with socks on at home, and shoes on if I'm out (unless it's someone else's home). I agree that it is easier to control the pedal without shoes on, I can't feel the pedal very well through my shoes.
