Does anyone have a Singer Curvy 8780? I need help.

I cannot get my Singer Curvy to do a basting stitch. I emailed Singer customer service, but the reply they sent me did not apply to my machine. They told me to move levers, but my machine has no levers. Can anyone help me out? TIA

I don't have a Singer Curvy 8780, but I'm planning to buy one because it can be installed in a machine cabinet. Do you like your machine? Do you have a problem with the automatic sewing speed? Have you had any other problem with it except for the basting stitch? I'll appreciate your overall opinion of the machine. Thank you, Phyllis

I like this machine. I got it 2 years ago from HSN and only recently started using it. It like it a lot. I had it serviced this week because I broke the presser foot lever while making a quillow. It was totally my fault and not the machine's! I didn't realize it had an automatic sewing speed. I will have to read the owner's manual on that. My Brother machine has that feature and I love it. The only problem I have had is the walking foot. I couldn't get it attached so had the repairman do that. Once again, my fault, not the machine's. I recently quit working and am just getting back into sewing and quilting. So, to answer your question, I do love this machine and am excited about learning to machine quilt on it. For me it was a very good purchase. The numerous decorative stitches are lovely. Also, I emailed Brother and they responded quickly and told me how to set the machine for a basting stitch. That impressed me. Hope I helped you.
