So I'm thinking I'd like to eliminate them before I start sewing each one. Any thoughts on this?

I am such a bad sewer that I make my hst's larger and cut them down to size thus no dogears. But if I were good and didn't have to worry about size, then I would just snip them as I go, not a big thing, but wouldn't want them in the pinwheel.
