Laundry stories remind me of when my oldest did the laundry. She was an early teen. Didn't use soap--only fabric softener. The clothes and towels were folded and put away--no way to tell which clothes they were.

You are so lucky. I miss my Mum every day. I catch myself thinking "I'll have to call Mum and tell her that" before I realize that she is gone...

I'm thinking dad's a pretty smart cookie! You'll probably think long and hard before you ask for moving help again! :-D :-D My dh brags he does his own laundry when I'm not here...he washes one pair of socks, or one shirt, or one pair of underwear at a time. He's a nut!

I've sworn I didn't get a few bills, too. I was being honest, too. Months later I found them...in the "safe place" I put them in so I wouldn't lose them!

Your Dad sounds like a great guy who loves you very much. You can't ask for too much more from a Dad.

You might be right. My older daughter, who is very smart, used to screw up any household task I asked her to do. She knew how to do every one of the things I asked her, but she didn't want to do any of them. So she always screwed up.

I called it 'planned incompetence'. She figured if she did something wrong often enough, eventually I would stop asking her to do it.

She really didn't know her mother very well...the word stubborn was invented for me. Of course, I use the word 'persistent' to describe me.

Especially since he is 81 and we had to make 5 trips from central Oregon (Bend) to NE Oregon (La Grande). He is a trooper.

So very sorry. I know it is going to tear me up when that day comes. :(
