Emerald; had the same thing happen to my Frank not too long ago. It was a Fons&Porter one, maybe, and of course the LQS didn't carry that one but they do carry a $28 one. Way too pricey for a tool like that so I went to Joann's, got the ripper and some rulers.

No - I don't love mine at all -

It reminds me that I goofed up!

But it is a necessary tool - that I have a close working relationship with :hunf:

My seam ripper is my best friend, we spend a lot of time together. I could not sew without it. As many years as I have sewn I would think I would never have to rip anything out. SO NOT TRUE.

Then just go pop pop pop and you pull up simple and fast. With out it on the machine just sit on the larger part or tucked between your knees and so same thing pop pop pop.
Would love a visual of how you're doing this.

I have a love/hate relationship with my seam rippers. I've learned to appreciate them a little more after my last quilt. I was working on a t-shirt quilt with 1" sashing. I sewed a longer piece of sashing between two rows of t-shirt panels and found I somehow messed up...forget how I messed up, but it needed to be ripped out. Could not find ANY of the seam rippers I own. After trying to find one for a while I said "Screw it. I'll just get a new one when I'm at work tomorrow". Course when I got into work at Wal-Mart I found they were out of seam rippers, even though a couple days before I swore there were some. What I ended up doing was snapping a stitch out and pulling the stitching out with a pin. Took FOREVER!

Course I found the darn thing once I brought home a new sewing kit I found on clearence that had a seam ripper.
