I wanted to quilt my pumpkin runner tonight but none of my batting pieces were long enough. I have a stack of 4" x4" pads the hospital sent home with DGD when she was in an accident. I opened two of them, each one was approx. 12" I ironed on ultra lite backing from Joann's, put the gauze on the batting and using my Teflon sheet ironed it on. It worked better than anything I have tried. I quilted over it like it wasn't even there. Wow! And the roll of ultra lite was on sale for $1.00. I have enough to join every piece of leftover batting in my house.
