Default Embroider first or Quilt first

I am going to be hand embroidering antennae with floss. Should I do that before quilting or after quilting?

I would do it before quilting, unless you want it to go thru all the layers.

Embroider first or you will have no place for the knots to be hidden.

The only reason I can think of to quilt first would be that the embroidery thread would then be on top of the quilting thread, if you're planning for them to overlap at all.
