We can always strive for perfection -- we're never going to achieve that lofty goal. I think striving for excellence is how we should "quilt", but there was only ever one man who walked this earth who was perfect, and he was nailed to a tree! I see excellence every time I look at a picture posted on this board!

I am still a rank amateur, but I know I'm not perfect. I just do the best I can and don't sweat the small stuff!

I feel the same way. I have been told I am too hard on myself. I think some have the "artistic" gene and some of us don't and use patterns all the time. I hear practice, practice!

If one is doing as well as one can with what one has to work with at the time - (materials, equipment, skill, knowledge) - let it be and enjoy the process
