I buy the Wilton thick cake boards. I can get three from one board. The board is acid free and non toxic. At Walmart $4.50 per package 4 in a package (12 fabric boards). I use a flat flower head pin to hold the end fabic fold on the board.

If you go to your local sign making shop, you can usually buy a plastic product that looks like cardboard but is made of a plastic that is not harmful to fabrics. It is quite cheap. I bought some and am going back for more. Just a thought.
