    Default Fabric Comparison

I've started using up some of my 'whites' from my stash. But I have a question. One of my whites is Moda Muslin Warm White. I'm wondering if the fabric - it being Muslin -- is a weave that should be used more for backing than for blocks. Or is it comparable to regular Moda fabric like Bella Solids or the Kona Cotton (Robert Kaufman) brand.

The Moda Muslin Warm White has a 60 x 60 thread count 100% cotton. But I can't find the thread count for the other fabrics I named. It's just that I don't want to put a 'weaker' fabric next to a stronger fabric because of the different wear factor.

To me, the Moda "Muslin Mates" seem to have a lower thread count. They used to be priced lower. But recently about 1 1/2 years ago, they raised the price on them. And it seems that they were a little better quality after they raised the price.
