    Default Fabric lint

Have ordered from Connecting Treads many times but this last fabric that I ordered seems to have so much lint/mess when I cut it. My goodness, there is a mess when I finish with my rotary cutter. Anyone else noticed this?

I noticed a lot of lint from my last Moda fabric I bought. Must be lint season. LOL

Another reason to prewash. But I've noticed even after prewashing some fabrics still are very linty when cutting. I use microfiber rags and Swiffer towels to wipe up the lint. Works pretty well. Lint rollers get pricey after awhile.

If you recently changed your blade, are you sure there is only one blade in your rotary cutter? I once changed my blade and thought my fabric was linty. Turned out I had installed 2 blades. It's very easy to do.

We have used lots of fabric from CT, and never noticed more than the usual lint. Could you post a pic? This might be something you would want to contact them about.

I have the lint roller that rinses off in the sink. Have not had to buy any of the peel off kind in two years.

New fabric in general seems to be linty I've found, no matter where I have purchased. Also the darker or brighter the fabric, the more lint. Perhaps it's just because you notice it more? I do prewash but still find it linty.

Bless you!! That's what it was--two blades were trying to do the job of one. No wonder there was such a mess. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think we all may have made the two-blade or the backward blade mistake at least once. Glad you solved the problem.

I noticed one CT fabric seemed extra linty when cutting and I needed to clean my machine before the quilt was finished. When I washed the finished quilt before sending it off to a new baby - OMG it had pilled! The lit roller would not remove it! I was so angry and disappointed! set it to the thrift shop!
