If you do an advance search selecting Falling Charms, you will find actually quilt and be able to see it. I haven't gotten around to putting in on EQ. Anyway, I think I will cut either 6.5 or 6" squares because I thought that the background was a little on the wide side. Just my opinion !! Good Luck !!.

I made one, and next time I will make the sashing strips thinner. Once you figure out how to lay out the blocks, it's not hard. Think of the sashing as a "corner". They alternate corners. Block 1 - sashing on top and right, Block 2 - sashing on left and bottom. Repeat across. Next row starts with Block 2. You can see this alternation in the photo above.

I recently pieced two tops using this pattern. The first pic is of the "scrappy one" while I was laying it out...it was later sewn together with a totally random pattern as seen on the first number of rows. The second is a very patterned falling charms top...the only thing you need to watch if you use feature blocks that have a pattern or picture that needs to be seen one way is to split the stack of these blocks and piece half with sashing on the left/bottom and half with sashing on the right/top.

I finally figured it out girls. What a time. I wish I would have made my blocks bigger and the white strips smaller also. It is for a baby girl so I guess it will be OK. Your pictures are all great. thanks so much, I can always count on the board.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the black! I am teaching this pattern to a church charitable quilting group and did the two tops to show how differently the pattern could look depending on color choices. I got two matching FQ bundles with five fabrics each on sale at JF (about $9 total cost) and got the black from JF deep discount fabric. Then played with placement to get the diagonal stripes in the black.
