Hhhmmmmm...If I lose all the weight I need to, I'll make enough blocks for several quilts! Count me in.

I think I want to celebrate my weight loss all along the way. So I am going for 12 inch blocks and make several quilts!
I kinda like the sampler style for now...

What a great idea! I have a weight loss group that I can share this with. They are a sub group of a quilting ministry.

This is a GREAT idea! I didn't join the weight challenge but I did loose 12 # over the summer and have plenty more to go. I've been trying to find ways to incorporate motivation to keep going. I'll probably do smaller blocks, 4-6 inches, and if I slip up I'll make up yo-yo to add on-maybe in my least favorite fabrics. Ha! I also like the idea of patches that symbolize the journey. Maybe a disapearing 9 patch for each 9 pounds..hmmm. This is a great idea and thank you for inviting those of us that aren't in the challenge to play along.

Just found this message. I told my husband and he laughingly said I better make my blocks 2". Guess I have a long to go. Wish I could say I will make a doll quilt, but that's not so.

I stepped on the scale today and was so dissappointed. But now I have some inspiration. I am thinking about an hourglass block to represent my new shape. Not only will I be sewing blocks but I am going to walk around blocks too! Exersize everyday before I allow my self quilting time. I can't wait to see everyone's progress. My goal is a 30 block quilt for Christmas.

Good luck to all of us. Haven't thought about what I want to make yet.

    This is a neat idea!

If I do 12" blocks and loose all the weight I need too, everyone in my family would be getting a quilt!

How about doing a "Heart" block on those weeks where we gain weight. Or some other block for inspiration?

Maybe I'll do Sun Bonnet Sue and have her start out real fluffy then every week have her a bit less fluffy!

Love this idea! I have to lose but it is hard while I'm still recovering and unable to exercise very much. The block per pound is great incentive now that I'm able to spend a little time at my quilting each day.

YES! I'm in! Just started my husband and I on a program about 6 weeks ago and I'm down 10 pounds... kinda stuck right now, but hoping to move it on down this week. This will be a great way to gain support. And! the one that said it would be a quilt for me struck a chord... I never make quilts for myself so this one is ALL mine.
