Default Favorite strip quilts?

I just opened my second-ever jelly roll and have sewn the strips in long pairs. That's as far as I've gotten.

Suggestions on where to from here? I'm not wild about the jelly roll race-type quilt that just has stacked strips. Kinda boring to me. This pack is from my DIL and very modern, a gift from several steps out of my comfort zone. LOL I need a quilt quickly so am going for a simple design.

Anybody have ones they liked that whipped up happily?

I was just looking at these today ... a lot of jelly-roll friendly quilt patterns, free!

What about 'Strip Twist' on Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville.com. Patterns are alphabetized under the 'Free Patterns' tab.

You could go on Moda bake shop and check out the jelly roll tab, of course there are also many designs that you could find on Pinterest. I just do a search for jelly roll quilt patterns and then choose what I like.

I second Strip Twist. It's my favorite pattern for 2.5" strips. If you do it right it makes a great optical illusion.

Look at these images: https://www.google.com/search?safe=a...24.0bAUxzK2vik

I particularly like jelly roll quilts that are intersected by another strip, especially on the diagonal. Maybe even in a jagged lightning-like strip.

Zozee, people gave you some nice ideas here. I agree that the jelly roll race is rather boring! But some of these patterns are great.

Donna Jordan from Jordan Fabrics did a really pretty one a few days ago. It was strips but made sort of a wave pattern.

I haven't made this Circle Back Quilt, but I thought that it would make a nice quilt from 2.5" strips. It's in my "someday" list of quilts to make.
