Favorite Thread for Sewing Binding
When you hand stitch the binding onto your quilt, what is your favorite thread (type and weight) to use?
I have used Gutermann's, but am thinking about using Aurifil 40 wt. I also like to use 100% cotton.

I use Bottom Line for almost everything now. Hand piecing, binding, applique, and I've even switched to it for piecing. It sinks into the fabric beautifully, which is great for applique, hand piecing, and binding.

I used to use it for handpiecing too, but have switched to Mettler cotton embroidery 60 wt.
My Jems won't take it as a top thread, so then I use Aurifil 50wt. for machine piecing

Someone on the board mentioned using silk thread and now I am addicted to it. It slides through the fabric so easily and is barely noticeable (I match colors). I wanted ONE type of thread to use for needle turn appliqué and for hand stitching the bindings and this is it. I have bought it at Joanne's but their color selection is very limited in silks so I am looking for an online source.
