I seem to make alot of log cabins, they are quick and easy, and have so many different setting choices. Others I like are the snowball/nine patch variation and dresden plates.

There aren't many that I don't like but my favourites would be Log Cabin, DP9 and Card Tricks.

My favorite is any stack and whack. I have done many. Love how each block is different.

Anything that is different from the one I did before and especially if it teaches me a new technique or is a challenge.

If I need a quick quilt, I often cut my focus fabric into 8 1/2" squares and pick out four colours from this fabric and make a co-ordinating four patch. I then simply stitch the quilt top alternating a focus fabric with a four patch. Thirty five blocks, eiighteen focus and seventeen four patch blocks will make a crib quilt 40" X 56" which is just about right.

I'm also new to quilting. I like the 9 patch and the snowball. It's amazing how many quilts I've seen displayed at LQS that are made of these 2 patterns.

Rail Fence, Jacob's Ladder, Hole in the Barn Door, Blockade and Jack in the Box
I also love 4 and 9-patch done in small squares

I rarely make the same pattern more that once except for log cabin. I have made 2 or 3 of them. I love making different patterns, and have many UFO's to finish. Seems like every time I plan on finishing one of them, someone announces that a baby is on the way and I have to make a baby quilt. A woman's work is never done!!!

One Block Wonders are fun as no two are alike and they are not difficult to make. I have made 5. I have also made the 9 patch pizazz 5 times and they are fairly simple to make but turn out fun. I am using my scraps on a spiderweb quilt and love the look. Here is it half done. The how to is from Material Obsession 2. This is my first time posting so here is to hope it works.

I always like to try something new -- like the challenge. I have a customer that has done the "Take Five Gets the Point" quilts a coupla times.....she said they're very easy to make.
