I love my Vintage Featherweight. It is older than me! (you can check the 'age' by the serial number.) I'm going tomorrow to look at a 99 model for a good price near me. Its the Featherweights big sister. I even found an add on crank, so I could use it camping or if the power goes out. I have heard the new ones are not worth the money.

Very nice machines, but, they weigh a ton...

The grande ol Featherweights have been around, what, 50-70 years and most with a little work are up and running smooth as silk. Now, plastic, with plastic parts, how many years do you think they will last? Yep, will take our two "old" Featherweights over a new one anyday.

The 99 is a 3/4 size machine, very heavy, but a good machine. The machine that's usually called the featherweight's big sister is the 301.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, I was seriously considering an old one just because!
