Default Feeling a bit frustrated. . ..DP9...help?

So I really want to make a DP9, but need to know how much fabric I need. Any thoughts? I am thinking 5 inch squares and see that all of the pattern recommendations are to take simple charm packs. However, I do not want to have the scrappy look. I want to use about 4-5 planned fabrics and have it be at least 80 x 80. Please, any help, thoughts, measurements would be appreciated.

You add an inch on both sides of the block. 44 inch material will give 7 blocks to a strip of 6 inch square blocks and that should yield 42 blocks to a yard.
