Is it ok to use felt for batting in potholders and hotpads? I came across some large pieces i have had for a while and was trying to think of a way to use them and want to make hot pads and potholders for christmas.

Is it natural fiber or synthetic? Don't want it to melt.

I have used felt before in potholders , but all felt is not the same . I suggest you wash a sample and see what happens.

you might still add one layer of Insul-Brite with the shiny side toward the front of the pot holder.

(check fiber content--some felt does NOT wash)

I use washable felt for table runners and place mats, never tryed pot holders. Be sure to wash your felt first even if it says it is washable, I have had it shrink quite a bit.
