    Default Fiestaware Quilt

I am wanting to make a quilt as a wedding gift for a niece who loves Fiestaware dishes. I've done some searching and found a few that others have made but nothing jumps out at me yet. (I've looked at Southerngirlquilts "Broken Fiestaware" and this one at http://www.utahquiltguild.org/gallery/photo/167/). I'm trying to decide on a pattern and the fabric. I've seen a couple of people say they have matched the various Fiestaware colors with the Kona cottons which would give me the fabrics but I would like to find some fabric line that incorporates some prints using those colors. You folks always have such wonderful ideas so I thought I would ask and get your thoughts and suggestions.

Have you seen the Chevron fabric by Riley Blake? It has great bold colors that make me think Fiestaware.

I like those Riley Blake colors. I would want some solids or other prints to go with the chevrons. - Too bad we can't input some colors and get a list of fabric lines that use them. - Or can we

www.eQuilter.com has a a color matching function/ Click on a thumbnail, put cursor on a color, click on find this color and then click on Search. It will bring up a page of thumbnails for you to choose a co-ordinating fabric.

Thanks gramajo. I had no idea that eQuilter had color matching available. I'll be checking it out for sure.

You might check ebay or another site for a Fiesta tablecloth. There have been a few made of cloth that have the Dancing Lady, the disc pitchers, plates, and a few other motifs. If you could start with one of those it might give you some inspiration. Other than that, anything that gives a deco look should work. You could do a layered or repeating design, or use a tulip design somehow. You could also try the Fiesta collectors website: http://mediumgreen.proboards.com/index.cgi . My wife and I are also Fiesta "collectors," but there are some hard-core collectors on this site and they have a for sale section where you might find a tablecloth or some other ideas.

Thanks for the tablecloth suggestion, Darren. I'll look into it. I also found a quilt by Cindy Sharp at her Tops to Treasures blog that really appeals to me - http://topstotreasures.blogspot.com/...-festival.html - Isn't it beautiful!

    Joyce -

Speaking as someone who collects Fiesta, I have to say that quilt is perfect. I don't think you need to search for a tablecloth.

I used batiks to make this runner for a friend who has a collection of fiesta ware. It went really well with her dishes.

How much of a collector of FiestaWare is your niece? I know several people who collect it but only the original and will not keep the new at all. The original was produced in different colors than the new has been produced in. Some people do not collect all colors but only a select few.
