Default Finished quilt

I finished hand quilting a quilt. I noticed places where I did not quilt-- can I go back and hand quilt on my finished quilt? I hope my question makes since!

I think I understand your question. If you just missed places where you didn't do the hand quilting, I'd say of course you can go back and quilt those spots. I have gone back and added more hand quilting when I finished a quilt but felt that it needed more quilting.

Thank you for responding so quickly! I thought I could but wasn't sure--do I need to use a quilting hoop?

Of course you can! Use a hoop or not - it's up to you. Remember, this is your creation and you can do what you want. I hope you share pictures!

As long as it's in your possession, you can add or subtract anything you need to. Even if it had been machine quilted.

I don't see why not. Just think about it as you just THOUGHT you were done with it but weren't! Even if you have added the binding I think you can go back and add more quilting in spots you think need it.

I, for one, am anxious to see it.

And, I agree with jclinganre, you can use a hoop if you want, but you don't have to. The hoop is used to keep things from shifting so you don't get bunches showing up. But, once it's quilted, it doesn't shift anymore.

Yes, as everyone has said, you can always easily add anything to a quilt but taking something out, well that can be a whole can of worms !!

I've gone back and added stitching, both hand or machine. When I hand quilt, I don't use a hoop. It's easier for me to rock the needle in and out without the hoop.
