Are you sewing the hexs together before applique? Sew them, press them, then applique them. From the picture, it seems you are appliquing them and putting them together at the same time. If I am wrong, please forgive me. I, too,
am working on a small 24" square with 1/2" hexes and I am in the process of quilting them and my hands are sore.

Congratulations!
You have entered hexie-land and will soon be hooked.
Could you tell us more about this BOM?
Is it an online BOM? or one at your LQS?
Perhaps link(s) to more details about it?
Thanks!
(I googled, but did not find anything that I thought matched up with your first block)

I made the hexagons first, that stitched them together and appliqued them to the block.

Looks like a nice way to get started with hexies and other EPP,
while mixing with traditional piecing.
ENJOY!

Good job on your first attempt. More power to you.....hexi's are not my thing nor is "hand-anything".... That's a pretty BOM....have fun. You always amaze me on what you produce......no doubt, after four blocks, you'll be an expert.

I love EPP! This project looks interesting - do you have to buy it with the fabric or can you just pay $4.99 for the whole pattern?

You could just purchase the book and not do it as a bom. Originally Posted by RJLinkletter
