    WOW you didn't pick an easy one for the first quilt. Great job! Stitch in the ditch would be fine. Personally I like to use flannel on the back of baby quilts. I would almost be tempted to put a black border on this, but it would be fine with no border as well. Depends on what size you want to finish it out.

    Stunning, I love the idea of a night sky border and the Sagan quote. Brilliant first, look forward to seeing it finished. Lattice quilting might be the best (use good quality low tack painters tape as a guide).
