Default First time in 3 months

This weekend I sewed and quilted for the first time in about 3 months. I ended up turning off the stitch regulator and it felt like taking off the training wheels! I won't brag about my quilting quality- I definitely had some "toe catchers," but I had those before when I still had the stitch regulator on. My longarm can be fickle but I was able to coax it into cooperation most of the time.

Happy sigh.... It was fun!

So you are taking baby steps with the regulator off. Good way to learn. Keep having fun.

I have found, two or three times over the years, that when I take a 'sabbatical', usually more than 6-12 months, away from quilting/sewing (for whatever reason), when I return to the art I am even more skilled than I was when I left it. I have no reason why this is so....it's like the details and skills have time to soak in and develop while I was otherwise occupied! Weird.

Maybe as you continue without your SR you'll begin to notice the same thing.
