Default Fish quilt: how to quilt/name

I'm about ready to quilt this one, but not sure how. The back is bright yellow with bright random dots in every color. As you can see, the border is scrappy in solids and tone-on-tones. Any suggestion for what to do there?

Also, I usually have no problem naming quilts, but there is not one that "sticks" so far. If you'd like to suggest a name , go for it! This will be a Project Linus donation quilt.

    Phooey! It's turned sideways. Sorry.

I'd probably FMQ around the fish and other underwater things in light blue. With something like ribbon candy in the colored borders and miscellaneous blue bubbles in the black borders. Actually I'd probably use a light blue thread on the whole thing.

Otherwise, maybe a panto/edge to edge of a bubbly pattern but I'd stick to a light blue thread....

For a name: At the Aquarium. I love the quilt, and I know the child who gets it will, too.

I think that a large meander that kind of looks like moving water would work beautifully on the quilt.

It's the "Happy Ocean" quilt... beautiful fabric. I agree with an allover watery looking stipple.

    I'd suggest "Morning Swim".

As soon as I saw this I thought of the song in the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid" "Under the Sea". It is happy just like that song.

As for quilting you could do wavy lines across it to represent the currents in the water.

This quilting design,by Christina Cameli, also gives lots of motion.

According to the Pinterest link it is from this book

It is indeed a very happy fabric. I like the idea of having "Happy" in its name. Still thinking.

Spray basted and then realized that the accent piece down the back, which is directional, was upside down. Thank goodness the basting spray lets you reposition--even after two nights of "curing."

Gonna start quilting it now, after practicing some wavy motifs suggested above. I like to keep the quilting a bit "light" so the quilt is mostly puffy.

I feel as if I'm sitting in a glass-bottom boat when working with this fabric--like I could almost reach out and touch one of the dolphins.

    How about "Under the Sea"?

Glass Bottom Boat is a perfect name for the quilt!
