    Default Five Yards Later...

The borders and sashing are finished on this little quilt. This was a fun project started in class last month at the LQS. We asked our teacher to help us add the stippling around each design on our EMB machines. I used scrap pieces for the first row of sashing around each block. Auditioned many fabrics from closet stash for the next row of sashing/borders and nothing worked.

There was one FQ dedicated for a different project that would work. A trip to the LQS to see if there was any of it left. I only needed 15 inches WOF for sashing and 14 inches WOF for borders. Here we are five yards later...

The embroidery blocks already have one layer of batting. I will add another full piece of batting and the backing. Then attempt quilting on the EMB machine. We shall see how it goes.

The more I see embroidery the more intrigued I am - yours is very nice! And those fabrics are gorgeous too!

Beautiful work Rhonda. I've used my embroidery feature a few times in the making of quilts. It is a process that can be so rewarding. Looks like you are well on your way. Love the fabric!

I love your quilt and very envious about being able to take a class for the machine embroidery quilting. I have being trying to find a local place to take a class and haven't found any. My biggest hoop is 7.5 in. x 12 in. Also, I would love to take a class on the ruler quilting. I have the feet for my machines. But would love to take a class so I learn to do it with someone watching me and letting me know how I can improve.
