I have never made a log cabin quilt, but everytime I see pics of the Floral Log Cabin they just amaze me!
I have googled, ans searched, but never come up with a pattern. Can anyone help me to find a pattern for these beauties?
Thanks So Much.

it's just a log cabin block made with floral prints, and then choose your layout
did you see barnbum's here on the board? she shows LOTS of layout options before she made up her mind

I may be wrong (and often am!) but I don't think there is a special pattern for the floral log cabin, it is more of fabric choice and placement using a traditional log cabin block. If you study the pictures, you can see where the colorful floral fabrics are placed vs. the more muted leafy or neutral ones.

The ones that I have seen on here lately are not the "normal" log cabin -- they look to me to be different size strips - the floral one width and the background another. I think there is one on quilterscache but don't remember the name.

Some of Barnbum's watercolor log cabins are the uneven pattern, but some are the traditional. You can find both online free.

It's not the block pattern that makes it a watercolor log cabin..it's the fabric selection. Find a picture of one you like and just place similar fabrics in the same places. Not as hard as you think.

Don't forget that Barnbum's quilt has the smaller light color strips------------thus the uneven log cabin name.

And to highlight the florals, I'd guess the whites (pales) would have to be smaller to give the florals more "air time".
