Lol at bearisgrey! I know what you mean about the 'aha' moment! Thank you everyone for the awesome info. I haven't heard of the Eleanor Burns method so going do some research now.

The method where you use three rectangles and one seam is the method invented by Tim someone. Anyone remember his last name? I want to look up that method again but cannot remember his full name.

I like Bonnie Hunter's method (Quiltville.com) no waste at all.

I'm always in favor of reducing waste! The method with 4 smaller squares is worth learning.
