Flynn Multi-Frame Quilting System

Flynn Multi-Frame Quilting System
I have never seen this system mentioned on the board before, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried this? I think I would still have larger quilts LA'd, but thought this would work for baby quilts and wall hangings. Any pros or cons out there in cyber space?

This system has been a topic of discussion before. I had one and used it only once, for a kingsize quilt. With the added rails it was very difficult to maneuver, and I wound up only basting the quilt on the frame (using water soluble thread) and then quilting it on my DSM without a frame. Then I bought a longarm, because I wasn't going to go through that again! Seriously, the system can work for small quilts, but do you really need/want a frame for small quilts?

I showed my husband a video of how it worked, and he built me one that was very, very similar. Unfortunately, I found it to be more cumbersome than it was worth. I bought a mid-arm and a frame shortly afterwards, but if I want to quilt a small quilt on my regular machine, I just baste it together with Elmer's glue.

I have one but only used it once. Takes up too much room for my house and too much time getting set up,hard to control. I went to all QAYG several years ago and that really works well for me.I especially am excited to know how to QAYG with no sash and no hand sewing. (just discovered that technique)

I saw him demo it at Quilt Market and I wasn't impressed. I had a great table support built around my Bernina so I couldn't see it working for me. I always pin basted my quilts quickly at my LQS using their classroom tables.

Gave mine away.
Only works for small quilts that are easy to quilt even without it.
For big quilts you need a long long table and extended rods.
It is useless.
