I tried both a slider mat and an oven liner on my Sweet 16. Both failed miserably. The slider mat was supposed to be self-adhesive. It lasted about 3 days before the edges started to curl. I tried taping it down but nothing stuck to it!

Same thing with the oven liner. No tape stuck to it. I finally threw both of them away.

My slider doesn't move or come off my machine bed unless I move it. That's odd that some do. I do take it off and rinse it well in running warm water to get the lint and threads off and let air dry. I also wipe down my machine bed with rubbing alcohol before putting the slider back down. I have never sewn it to my quilts but I can see how that could happen if it came loose.

My first Supreme Slider got stitched into my quilt and I got so mad I said that's it, never again!
But....... Bluprint had a huge sale and I bought 2 more for a ridiculously low price. So far so good.

I tried the sled thing and it didn't work well for me. Same with the oven liners.

The money spent trying less expensive should work the same products usually cost more in the long run then buying the one made for the job. Not always but most always.

I'm intrigued by the "Snow Carpets", has anyone out there used them? My Supreme Slider is the smaller size and it works just fine, however, I have sewn over it several times over the years.

I had a supreme slider, never liked it could not tape it down as my machine sits on a table.

I just FMQ without anything and I wear garden gloves with rubber nubs or the rubber gloves for gardening.
