I look at this block. If you decided on this....there is a way to add the small squares to focus fabric without cutting it up and disturbing the beautiful pattern.

It takes a little more effort but worth it.

Beautiful focus fabric.
I too think that a black fabric and teal fabric would add a punch. :-D

Gorgeous fabrics! If it were mine and I did not have much, I would probably do the disappearing nine-patch. The focus fabric would then stand alone. Do post later on when you get the quilt in-progress. Again, beautiful colors.

Have a book from Marsha McCloskey...Block party. Looking at the cats cradle block and when put together m/b the right choice. Quilter's Cache has it too. If I place the colors right, I'm done..kinda. Have to do a paste up with copies of the fab. Don't want to do start block. Really not a star kinda gal. Wouldn't it be a hoot if I decided three colors are enough and I have FIVE co-ord fab? And three yards of each!! :D

You'll think I'm nuts, but....How about something like an Ohio star with the focus fabric as the center square and the points and the different coor. fabrics making different colored bacgrounds. I know that sounds lame, but I can picture it. For ex. you would have the FF with the pink, the FF with the blue, etc.
