LOL!! Me too! I was picturing you mucking about with your feed dogs, or the underside of the presser foot, or some other item I don't have on my machine, and I was thinking, she's gonna be sorry about that.

Then that DOH! moment....now to scrounge for that strip of sticky backed velcro I bought eons ago!

That's what I've used for years! It's amazing what velcro can be used for. When I moved into my shed, I got one of those floor mats for my chair to roll around on. I put the fuzzy side down on the mat and then stick my foot feed to that. Before, I just used it with the carpet in the house. The carpet there was 30 yrs old, so I didn't worry about the wear to the carpet.

Oh, Moreland. I sure had a laugh at myself. When I read your post I sat here for the longest time trying to figure out how velcro will help you attached to the bottom of your pressure foot. Then I read further and understood. I, too, use the rubber shelf stuff under my foot control on my wood floor. Works pretty good. Your idea sounds terrific if you have carpet.

Great idea! I'm teaching a 10 year old to sew and have moved the sewing machine downstairs to the hardwood floored living room, instead of my carpeted craft room (which is too messy right now!). The foot pedal slides all around---so your great advice comes at the perfect time!!!!!!

Thank you for this post! I didn't think of this and it sounds absolutely perfect. I even have the Velcro! Thank you again for all the time I'll save from not having to chase that foot pedal around the sewing room!!!

This thread is so funny! I have hardwoods and a square of carpet sample stuck under the legs of the sewing cabinet but even that does not work. I tried shelf liner - no better. I have even considered nailing it to the floor. NOT! Or using a bungie cord to wrap around the thing and the table leg. So far, I have developed great toe-dexterity and can grab that thing as long as my legs reach it. Sometimes I just have to bend over and pick it up. It so slows me down!

I put a piece of quarter round molding long enough to go from one leg of my sewing table to the other. It keeps the foot petal from moving forward on any type of floor. I sew with the petal underneath my chair. Less stress on my foot and leg.
