    Football words or short sayings

I am making a memory type quilt for a friend with alzheimers & have it ready to quilt, I will be using written words rather than a quilt pattern to actually "quilt" it. These are the ones we have come up with so far & would really appreciate any you can think of that are "nice ones"
Pass the ball; Go Team; Roughing the Passer; Red Flag -Challenge; Yellow Flag-Foul-Penalty; Ten yards: Lineup; Kick-off; Fumble; Touchdown; Run it out; Intercepted; Quarterback; Referees; Intentional grounding; Sidelines; Pigskin; Strategy; Field goal

I don't know exactly what I will & won't use but if you have other suggestions, I'd really appreciate hearing them, thanks!

I'd like to suggest using College Foot Ball slogans, if this person had been a College FB fan! Roll Tide, Crimson Tide, War Eagle, Fearless and True, Oregon Win the Day, Fighting Irish, Gig 'em Aggies - I found 52 here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...sayings/page/1

I'm also sure Pro teams have slogans that will bring on some smiles! You might also see if there was a team this person played for, was on the Pep Squad for etc. That little research might prove the best resource of all!

Good luck and thank you for doing this.

Roughing (the kicker ... the quarterback)
    Intentional Grounding
    Field Goal

May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

Just for fun, you could use a picture of a zebra and write "referee" over it.
