I need some advice .... I have a Nolting Hobby Quilter which I purchased used about 6 weeks ago. I'm getting used to her, but now, am having thread issues. My spool is about half used, and it keeps jumping out of the tension, making a big mess. If I catch it soon enough, it's not bad to correct, just have to crawl under and pull out the bobbin thread and it comes right out. I switched spools (and colors) and everything went well until the other spool of thread broke. Fixed that but didn't check the thread in the tension, which had jumped out again. Guess it's time to just chill for a while before going back and crawling under again. Does anyone have any advice for me? I appreciate all the wonderful advice and suggestions from everyone on this board. You all are wonderful.

My first thought it is not threaded correctly--rethread it more than once.

is the machine new?
i ask because my 8 year old machine is (starting) to at times have the thread jump out of the tension disks- i had it in the shop- they said the disks are becoming worn--
if it is new- i would expect the disks to be new too- so would think it is a threading issue- get your manual out and follow it closely to make sure you are getting it threaded correctly- and if you are still having problems call the company- most of the machine companies have very good customer service/tech support--who can talk you through all kinds of problems over the phone

Go through the tension disks twice. Wrap around then around again.
