I loved mine. I made a double sided quilt for a friend where the focal color was the same on both sides. But there still seemed to be thousands of those 4 inch combo's left over. They actually made the perfect size lap quilt for the same lady-

Me too, can't put two 'uglies' together. but I've had some interesting results! Have fun, don't overthink it (my issue for sure).

I make my scrap quilts this way:
Cut squares of newspaper the size I want the squares. Starting at the center, I pin whatever material I grab out of the box onto the paper pattern. The next piece is placed wherever on the first one. After folding over the seam width, I top stitch the piece onto the first piece. Tear the paper away under that piece and cut away the extra fabric underneath. Continue until the paper is covered. Cut your new square of material around the paper pattern and remove the rest of the paper. From the wrong side you can clip away any extra left hanging.

knowing me, i'd cheat and defeat the whole purpose. in fact, that would probably be virtually impossible for me to do! i sometimes think i quilt bc it IS something i can control ...at least i sure try to, but with varying results.

Same here. So I think the toss in the air would work better (but I'd probably end up doing a little rearranging).

This sounds like something I would definitely like to try. Thanks for the great idea!
I like a little disorder. Makes quilting a little more enjoyable for me.
