    What exactly is a "fussy cut"? I am a somewhat new quilter and I have seen this term used but I don't know what it is.

    it is cutting out a square, so that an element is "featured" in the squares center instead of just cutting the squares randomly. Often this is done with flowers, an animals face, a scene etc...

    When you cut a feature pattern out of a fabric. Usually as a square (window) or a hexagon or circle. Fabric looks like swiss cheese afterwards.

    It's when you cut out a special place in the fabric.

    The other day DD and I went to fabric store as we were getting our fabrics cut I made some comment about fussy cutting,my DD looked at me and said : is that where you bitch as the material' The sales lady and I cracked up.I did explain it to DD after we finished laughing.
