And finally, 27° F? Are you kidding me? We had single digit temps last week!

I'll "see" your single digits, and "raise" you to -15 with wind chill and 3 feet of snow in 36 hours!!

Oh, I love your quilt, I love the colors, and the pattern, and the fussy cut centers. Could you use some wonder-under as a patch with a piece of material under it? When we tied quilts, we used a long string and just started making the, oh I don't know what to call it, where you go through all layers, we never cut the thread until we were all done, then we would start from the center and cut them as we went, just getting the right length. There wasn't as much waste, but gram was an old fashioned quilter, and she didn't waste anything. Good luck, and I hope things go alot smoother.

cutting holes while trimming threads----use the edge of your scissors to slide on the thread to cut. don't use the cutting action. saves many a would-be hole. and not too tiny a scissors so the points get something you don't want. Your solution of the bumble bee is perfect.
wondering why you use purchased binding instead of using doubled cotton fabric strips ? do a lot of you use purchased binging ? seems it would be a little stiff and your choice of colors limited. curious.

It's beautiful! You can put a small piece of 'Stitch-Witchery' or any 2-sided fusible under the hole, between the batting and the top, and iron it, then it won't be seen, hopefully! The recipient will love it!

just an idea, how about using a color from the churn dash at the corners of the binding. if the hole you mentioned is on the front try appliquing a flower over it and sprinkle some appliqued flowers along the dark border to tie it all together.
